"Bros before monsters"

Films: Dragon Crusaders (2011)

Alias: Faolon the Black Dragon, the Dragon Crusaders, the other dragons

Type: Mystical

Location: Mountains/Forest/Civilized Area

Height/Weight: Ranges from twice that of average humans to that of a small house.

Affiliation: Good (Crusaders), Evil (the rest)

Summary: Here's a cheap dragon film with a unique premise. A bunch of guys think they can stop the bad guy, only to then get some nifty curse placed on all of them that makes them demons. Sadly, it seemed that no big-budget studio got hooked on that premise, so this is all we got.

History: A brave group of knights made the unfortunate mistake of trying to stop Faolon, an evil sorcerer hoping to conquer the realm. He made short work of their efforts by placing a curse upon all of them. Basically, they are all doomed to become gargoyle-like demons. But still, they persist, looking to stop Faolon and his army of dragons before it is too late for them and the land at large.

Notable Kills: See Final Fate.

Final Fate: When Faolon launches an assault for the sake of getting his teeth on a certain book, the lead knight puts his curse to good use, and fights Faolon as a demon. They and the dragons end up landing in an explosive sulfur lake, blowing them all up. The knight survives, and with the destruction of the sorcerer and the book, he is turned back to normal.

Powers/Abilities: Faolon is adept in all forms of magic, transformation magic especially. He can breathe fire and tank most damage as a dragon, as well as control other dragons. The Dragon Crusaders turn into gargoyles against their will.

Weakness: Heavy artillery. Also, if Faolon is killed, the curse is reversed.

Scariness Factor: 2-Alas, the CGI is just plain dreadful here. Faolon and his dragons don't even look remotely real, despite the former’s impressive wingspan and magical prowess. The Dragon Crusaders fare slightly better, but even then they look like total guff. Also, they can hold onto their humanity with some effort.

Trivia: -This film was one of many featured on "Die schlechtesten Filme aller Zeiten", which is basically German "MST3K".

-Faolon's actor, Steve McTigue, had to wear white contact lenses for his role, and due to having to be in a Welsh cave most of the time, he needed a guide so that at least someone there could see where he was going.
